I have always been curious about nature which lead me to pursue a degree in Biotechnology engineering at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in Ecuador. During my bachelor’s studies I was mostly attracted by green biotech, working as a research assistant at university, developing tissue culture protocols for tropical species, focusing on tamarillo. In 2021 I was awarded a Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship from Tempus Foundation which gave me the opportunity to start my Agricultural Biotechnology MSc. In Budapest at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), my master’s thesis work focused on using chloroplast markers to elucidate the genetic diversity of basil genotypes. In 2023 I started the exciting journey of being a PhD student at HortiCell.
